Privacy Policy

MultiNotes ("we", "our", or "the extension") is a plain-text notepad that runs inside Chrome's side panel. It is developed by BrowserTricks and is committed to protecting your privacy.

The short version: MultiNotes is 100% offline. We collect absolutely no data — no analytics, no telemetry, no personal information, no usage tracking. All your notes are stored locally on your device and never transmitted anywhere.

MultiNotes stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API:

• Your notes (titles, text content, color tags, and layout preferences)
• Archived (deleted) notes, retained for 90 days before automatic permanent removal
• User preferences: theme (light/dark/system), font family, and text size
• The currently active note selection

✓ This data never leaves your device. It is stored entirely locally using chrome.storage.local and is not transmitted to any server, API, or third party — ever.

MultiNotes does not collect, transmit, or store remotely any of the following:

• Personal information (name, email, address, phone number)
• Note contents or any text you type
• Browsing history or website content
• Passwords, authentication data, or credentials
• Financial or payment information
• Location data
• Usage analytics or telemetry
• Any data from websites you visit
• Cookies or tracking identifiers

MultiNotes makes zero network requests. The extension operates entirely offline after installation:

• All 8 fonts are bundled as local WOFF2 files — no CDN or Google Fonts calls
• All icons are inline SVGs — no external icon libraries loaded at runtime
• No analytics scripts (no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, nothing)
• No remote code execution of any kind
• No API calls, webhooks, or telemetry endpoints

You can verify this by monitoring the Network tab in Chrome DevTools while using the extension. You will see zero outgoing requests.

MultiNotes uses no third-party services whatsoever. There are:

• No analytics services
• No advertising networks
• No cloud storage providers
• No external APIs or SDKs

MultiNotes requests only two Chrome permissions:

• sidePanel: Required to display the note-taking interface in Chrome's side panel
• storage: Required to save your notes and preferences locally using chrome.storage.local

No other permissions are requested. The extension has no access to your browsing history, tabs, web content, or any other browser data.

• Active notes and preferences: Stored locally until you uninstall the extension or clear browser data
• Archived notes: Automatically permanently deleted after 90 days. You can also manually delete them at any time from the Archive panel

To delete all your data, simply uninstall the extension or clear your browser's extension storage. Since no data is stored remotely, uninstalling completely removes all traces.
